Bye Bye Wordpress, You've Been Great!
posted by Fletch, 28 Oct 09
I started blogging in July 2008 when we were still working on a .Net version of the DIY web product and thought being a founder of a web company, writing a blog was part of what I should be doing.
I was really excited at the time for two reasons. Nicole had created a theme for the blog I thought was pretty cool using Wordpress. We called the blog 'Writings On The Wall', and I must say the Wordpress platform did a tremendous job - and I'm really only stopping using it as I've developed my own web publishing software.
Secondly, at that time I found Gcast which allowed me to upload MP3s to their server for free and then drop audio player widgets into blogposts and webpages. I really felt the web was coming alive.
From that time I've written about all sorts of stuff. A lot has been about the development of the product and the business, some has been observations about things on the web, and there's been some other mutterings about life in general. It's been fun.
However, it's time to use my own publishing product so to speak, and here's my bright shiny new flash blog! I hope you like it.
